Weybridge is named after 'bridge over the River Wey' and was once owned by the Bishop of Bayeux at the time of Domesday. Julius Caesar is thought to have crossed here whilst campaigning in 55 BC. The town was popular with Henry VIII though little now remains of his palace at Oatlands Park and in the twentieth century it was home to Vickers where Barnes Wallis invented his bouncing bomb.
Weybridge is just over two miles from Junction 11 and about four miles from Junction 10 of the M25. Woking, Kingston and Staines are all about six miles and Central London 22 miles. Fast trains to London take about an hour.
