Spire View*

Tower Hill, Dorset

Spire View, originally built as a model farm, is now a combination of converted farm buildings and new properties all built to Beechcroft‘s exacting standards. The first stage of the development involved the creation of 12 new cottages designed to complement the architectural style of the original buildings. They are constructed of the warm red brick typical of Iwerne Minster but unusual elsewhere in Dorset. The cottages have generous drawing rooms, separate dining rooms and kitchens. All have sun rooms and first floor balconies from the main bedroom and terraces. The development is set in three and a half acres of mature landscaped gardens with garaging.

Iwerne Minster is located on the A350 approximately 6 miles between Shaftesbury and Blandford Forum in the north of the county. Its beautiful setting, on the eastern edge of the Blackmore Vale and to the west of the open countryside and chalk downland of Cranborne Chase, is best appreciated from Preston Hill, a short walk from the village. Home Farm is on the edge of the village, close to the River Stour and Sir Giles Gilbert Scott‘s medieval-style War Memorial and has a tranquil setting with views over the surrounding countryside.

The village has kept its charm with the stream running through it as well as retaining the village pump and parish church, dating from the 12th century. There is a post office, general store and a renowned butcher‘s shop as well as the Talbot Hotel.

Shaftesbury, the highest town in Dorset, has some fine historical buildings as well as High Street stores, restaurants, cafes and bars and is a thriving market town. Blandford Forum, on the banks of the River Stour, is a Georgian market town with its open market square which has a twice weekly market. There are museums, galleries, antique and gift shops and the Larmer Tree Gardens holds the summer festivals and concerts.

Facilities . These include a resident secretary and attractive gardens and grounds. Each cottage or flat has an electric alarm system activated by a small button-operated transmitter, to alert the secretary. The gardens are beautifully maintained and all the cottages and majority of apartments have garages with electric light and power.
