The Turrets

West Lane, Sittingbourne, Kent

The Turrets : The Turrets consists of 25 retirement flats built in 2000.

Sittingbourne is on the Kent coast on the River Swale below the Isle of Sheppey and above the Kent Downs. It used to have an important paper making industry and today it is a large successful town with supermarkets and a busy shopping centre. There is a steam railway and several museums including the Sailing Barge Museum and nearby several places of interest to visit with the gardens at Doddington Place and Leeds Castle.

Facilities : These include a resident manager and emergency alarm system, a communal lounge, guest room, laundry and gardens to the rear of the building. There is limited off street parking.

Access: Communications are good with fast road and rail links to the south of England. Sittingbourne is on the A2 almost equidistant between Chatham and Faversham both about 8 miles away. The M2 at J5 is less than 3 miles and the M20 at J7 is about 8 miles. Fast trains to London (Victoria) take about an hour.
