The Lawns Drive, Broxbourne, Hertfordshire
The Haywards is situated off The Lawns Drive just off the High Road to the south of the town centre. The development consists of 25 bungalows and flats and was completed in 1989.
Broxbourne is an old settlement and was mentioned in Domesday as Brochesborne and had a mill. Its name is thought to derive from 'Badgers stream'. Today it is very much a commuter town with good leisure facilities being close to the Lee Valley Regional Park. Many of the lakes which form part of the park were created following local sand and gravel extraction. The New River was built in the early 17th century and runs to the west of St Augustine's church with its three stage tower.
Facilities include a resident manager and alarm service, communal lounge and guest facilities.
